Pornography
Just before I start I'd like to say thanks if you read my last post. If you haven't, it is a riveting read, and I for one thoroughly recommend it.
I was at my computer yesterday, and I got the urge that many-a-human does: to violate oneself with the hand, foot, or fleshlight (if one can afford such novelty items in times such as these), so I did.
But I didn't do this the ordinary way dear reader, oh no.
You see, the normal way for a modern man-of-the-millennium zeitgeist such as myself to 'masturbate' would be to watch some dirty, sorry, filthy porn for a few minutes, furiously bashing one out and spilling the contents of his prostate all over his precious MacBook Pro which he bought yesterday but is now ruined because he can't 'control' himself.
I decided to do something different, and read some erotica.
The thing about erotica is (if your not already aware) that it is much more tasteful. There may be the same content that is in porn films, such as Max Hardcore*, which is disgusting quite honestly; but the fantasy is in your head and not in some corrupt business where women are pressured into performing sick fantasies for a substratum of men and women who are becoming increasingly sedentary and immune to regular pornography because they 'bash one out' twenty times a day.
Just a little side note, watch the programme Hardcore Profits on BBC iPlayer if you can, it is a real eye opener into the porn industry and how corrupt it really is. I'll just give you two teasers:
1. A large number of cooperations such as Vodafone and the Hilton Hotel franchise make a large portion of their profits from pornography in the form of a. premium mobile internet streaming, and b. adult films in hotel rooms. While this may not be a direct problem in itself, these companies actively discourage pornography within the workplace and the public eye. It is the whole "swept under the rug" phenomenon. No one talks about it because people are embarrassed and ashamed. This goes for the CEO's of these companies as well.
2. Pornstars in the pornographic industry are performing sexual acts that are so vile that some directors (notably Max Hardcore) have been sentenced to jail for abuse of their actresses. Viagra is a common product used in the porn industry, but male pornstars are having to perform sexual acts that are so unarousing to them (e.g. double anal), that they physically lose their erection if they are not on it. So much for the days of retro porn.Erotica on the other hand, is usually written by people like you and me, who actually enjoy the fantasies they are writing about. As this is the case, there is usually no form of corruptness or exploitation of people, and erotica is considered more in the 'fiction' category of reading, then pornography.
So dear reader, if you're interested, pop one off to a novel instead of a video. You'll thank me in the long run.
Read. It's what makes us more clever. And who doesn't want that?!
Thanks for reading
